The Mary takes her name from Mary Oliver, the Ohio-born poet who spent her whole life paying attention to the natural world. Devoted to the woods and marshes and their small daily miracles, she wrote poetry so clear and so tender that she became one of the best-loved poets in America.

Mustard ochre threaded with teal and cream — a warm field of hand-block printed teardrops, the color of late light on turning leaves. I designed the cut around a gathered drawstring waist with a fabric tie, a full tiered silhouette that drops to the ankle, and a flounce at the hem that moves when you walk. This skirt is fully lined, with two deep pockets in the seams. Pair her with a simple top, or with the matching Mary Oliver dress when you want the print from head to hem.

Fabric: Every Mary is hand-block printed in Jaipur using a craft 500 years older than fast fashion — wooden blocks carved by hand, dipped in natural dye, and pressed into the fabric one stamp at a time. Designed on our homestead in rural Ohio, made in Jaipur by families who have practiced this tradition for generations. Because each piece is made entirely by hand, no two are identical — slight variations in color and pattern are not flaws, they are fingerprints. The mark of something real. No chlorinated bleaches, azo dyes, chemical washes, sprays, or preservatives are used to make or applied to our Clarity pieces. We are toxin free by design.

Care: Wash inside out with other 100% cotton fabrics on a delicate cold cycle. Hang dry. Never bleach.
