Martha — named for Martha Washington, America's first First Lady, who managed a homestead, survived a revolution, and still found time to be the most gracious woman in the room. As Abigail Adams wrote of her: "A most becoming pleasantness sits upon her countenance."
White cotton alive with hand-block printed crimson dahlias and blue spruce green leaves and stems — bold, layered blooms that look grown rather than stamped, each one slightly its own. A handcrafted ribbon border runs the hem, separating skirt from earth like a finishing stitch on something made to last. The straight ruched bodice gathers and holds with a gentle stretch. The 3/4 balloon sleeves taper into adjustable ties at the wrist. The ankle-length skirt falls full and unhurried. Two deep pockets. A dress that grows with the women who wear her, from the littlest girls to the grandmothers who know better than anyone what it means to be well dressed.

Fabric: Every Martha is hand-block printed in Jaipur using a craft 500 years older than fast fashion — wooden blocks carved by hand, dipped in natural dye, and pressed into the fabric one stamp at a time. Designed on our homestead in rural Ohio, made in Jaipur by families who have practiced this tradition for generations. Because each dress is made entirely by hand, no two are identical — slight variations in color and pattern are not flaws, they are fingerprints. The mark of something real. No chlorinated bleaches, azo dyes, chemical washes, sprays, or preservatives are used to make or applied to our Clarity dresses. We are toxin free by design.
Care: Wash inside out with other 100% cotton fabrics on a delicate cold cycle. Hang dry. Never bleach.

Returns are accepted for 14 days. Returns must have their original tags. Buyer pays a flat rate of $15 for return shipping. Refunds will be given in the form of Clarity store credit. Refunds will not be made to the original form of payment. We reserve the right to charge a restocking fee if the customer is sending back items without their original tags or if the items have been used.
