Every Clarity dress is made from 100% organic cotton, colored with vegetable dyes only, and hand-block printed in Jaipur by families who have practiced this craft for generations. No azo dyes. No chlorinated bleaches. No chemical washes or preservatives. Nothing you wouldn't want next to your skin.
We design them on our homestead in rural Ohio, name them after women worth remembering, and make them for the woman who refuses to choose between beautiful and healthy.

Hand-block printed organic cotton with a softness and depth of color that screen printing simply cannot compete with — where machine printing produces evenness, hand-block printing produces richness, the kind of lush layered color that makes a dress look like it was painted rather than produced.

The Reason for Clarity
I became a mother in 2023, and like most new moms, I fell down the rabbit hole. Suddenly I was reading everything — ingredients, labels, materials — trying to understand what was actually safe for my baby and for me. What I found about synthetic fabrics stopped me cold. The microplastics. The azo dyes. The chemical finishes pressed into fabric that spends all day against your skin and your baby's skin. Nobody was talking about it loudly enough.
At the same time, I just wanted a pretty dress. Something comfortable and feminine that would help me feel like myself again after pregnancy and early motherhood. I searched for organic cotton dresses that were truly natural, well-made, and not unreasonably priced. I couldn't find what I was looking for — so I made it.
That is Clarity.

The name Clarity means exactly what it says. No hidden ingredients. No greenwashing. Just cotton, vegetable dye, and the oldest block printing tradition in the world — designed on our homestead in rural Ohio and made by real hands in Jaipur, India.
Motherhood asks so much of us. It changes our bodies, our priorities, and the way we see the world. I believe that deserves to be honored — with clothing that feels as good as it looks, in fabrics you can actually trust, on ordinary days that are worth showing up for.

Hand block printing is a traditional textile art where artisans carve intricate designs into wooden blocks, dip them in natural dyes, and stamp them onto fabric by hand. Each block is aligned with a trained eye, creating repeating patterns with slight variations or imperfections that add unique character to the fabric. It’s considered to produce the most beautiful fabrics because the hands-on process infuses each piece with individuality, unlike machine prints, the craftsmanship is unmatched in garment manufacturing.
The rich textures made from manual stamping creates subtle imperfections, giving depth and a tactile quality.
The vivid, vibrant organic dyes used age gracefully, and feel like wearing a work of art.
The cultural heritage of the patterns carry historical or regional significance, as each one is hand carved by an artisan.
