My favorite quote from Nancy Reagan is, "Don't say I was tough. I was strong. I had to be… But everything I did, I did for love." So I have named this dress after her. She was born Anne Frances Robbins in 1921 — called Nancy from the very start — and legally became Nancy Davis as a teenager, when her stepfather, the surgeon Loyal Davis, adopted her. Before Washington she was a Hollywood actress who met Ronald Reagan in the film world and starred beside him on screen in Hellcats of the Navy, then left that glamorous life behind to become First Lady of the United States. There she gave her heart to our most delicate populations — our children and our elderly — championing the Foster Grandparent Program that brought lonely little ones together with older adults who had love to give, and leading the "Just Say No" campaign.
Pink wildflowers climbing a soft green trellis on a cream ground, finished with a garland border along the hem — a garden wall in the middle of June. The round neck and button-front bodice keep it simple and easy over the shoulders, and the skirt gathers and falls in tiers to the ankle, with two deep pockets tucked into the seams. Fully lined in soft cotton voile through the bodice and skirt, for comfort and easy wear all day.

Fabric: Every Nancy is hand-block printed in Jaipur using a craft 500 years older than fast fashion — wooden blocks carved by hand, dipped in natural dye, and pressed into the fabric one stamp at a time. Designed on our homestead in rural Ohio, made in Jaipur by families who have practiced this tradition for generations. Because each dress is made entirely by hand, no two are identical — slight variations in color and pattern are not flaws, they are fingerprints. The mark of something real. No chlorinated bleaches, azo dyes, chemical washes, sprays, or preservatives are used to make or applied to our Clarity dresses. We are toxin free by design.
Care: Wash inside out with other 100% cotton fabrics on a delicate cold cycle. Hang dry. Never bleach.

Returns are accepted for 14 days. Returns must have their original tags. Buyer pays a flat rate of $15 for return shipping. Refunds will be given in the form of Clarity store credit. Refunds will not be made to the original form of payment.
